The Nebraska State Recycling Association and a group of partnering organizations will hold a recycling summit meeting in North Platte on Nov. 16, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Mid-Plains Community College, Room 109, 1101 Halligan Drive. The meeting will explore how to enhance recycling services across the state since some communities, businesses and citizens still don’t have access to recycling programs. The discussion-style meeting will cover the needs, barriers to recycling, public perceptions, look at what’s working, what doesn’t, and brainstorm possible solutions. The input from participants will be compiled in a final report to be submitted to state senators and the various state agencies with responsibilities in resource conservation.
The meeting facilitator will be Linda Fettig, Executive Director of Nebraska Rural Development Commission.
Cost is $10 per person and includes lunch. Businesses, schools, citizens and municipalities/government are
encouraged to attend.
