PowerUpNebraska.Org Campaign ContinuesThe Nebraska League of Conservation Voters presented more than 400 signatures to Nebraska Energy Office Director Neil Moseman encouraging the new state energy plan to embrace an ambitious renewable energy goal. "Nebraska has vast untapped wind and renewable energy resources that can revitalize our rural economy and provide tremendous environmental benefits," said Eva Sohl, NLCV Program Coordinator for Renewable Energy and Climate. "Nebraskans have spoken clearly and consistently: the time is now to harvest the benefits of Nebraska wind. From an economic perspective, it could surpass ethanol development in this state. Even better, wind and solar do not place additional demand on our scarce water resources or impact commodities."
The NLCV Education Fund launched PowerUpNebraska.Org in September to provide a conduit for Nebraskans to engage their elected leaders on renewable energy. To learn more about the campaign and how to get involved, visit www.powerupnebraska.org.
